College of Agriculture Science and Technology, Jalingo Hosts TETFund Delegation to Discuss Educational Development
The College of Agriculture, Science and Technology (COAST), Jalingo, is hosting a delegation from TETFund on February 18, 2025, to discuss infrastructural development and pending projects.
The College of Agriculture, Science and Technology (COAST), Jalingo, is set to welcome a delegation from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) today, February 18, 2025. The visit marks a significant step toward advancing academic infrastructure and fostering institutional growth at COAST.
The provost of the college, Dr. Yakubu Ali Garjila, alongside his cabinet members, is hosting an indoor meeting with the TETFund team to strategize on completing pending projects and further elevating the institution's academic and research capabilities.
Dr. Garjila expressed profound appreciation to the Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency Dr. Agabus Kefas, for his relentless commitment to promoting education across the state. He noted that the governor’s support has been instrumental in enhancing the quality of education and fostering growth in the sector.
COAST is renowned for its dedication to providing quality education, conducting impactful research, and engaging with the community to address challenges in agriculture and related fields. The institution offers a range of academic programs, including certificates, National Diplomas (ND), Higher National Diplomas (HND), and Postgraduate Diplomas. It also runs preparatory programs such as the Pre-HND and Pre-ND courses.
The Faculty of Agriculture at COAST includes various departments offering specialized courses such as Agricultural Engineering Technology, Agricultural Extension and Management, Animal Health Technology, Animal Production, Crop Science, Forestry Technology, and Home and Rural Economics.
The institution is managed by a team of experienced administrators, with Dr. Yakubu Ali Garjila serving as the provost, Babayo Yahaya as the deputy provost, and Habibu Abdullahi Lau as the registrar.
The visit by TETFund is expected to yield positive outcomes in terms of funding and infrastructural support, further solidifying COAST’s position as a leading agricultural institution in Nigeria.
