The Council of Legal Education (CLE), led by its Director-General and Life Bencher, Professor Isa Hayetu Chiroma, SAN, has conducted an accreditation visit to the Faculty of Law, Clifford University, Abia State, on October 10, 2025.
The visit marks a major step in the university’s drive to secure full accreditation for its Faculty of Law and strengthen its reputation for academic excellence and ethical standards in legal education.
The CLE delegation included prominent figures such as Mr. Ikechukwu Uwanna, SAN, Attorney General of Abia State; Mrs. Aderonke O. Osho, Secretary to the Council and Director of Administration; Dr. Silas O. Akinwumi, Law Librarian and Director, Nigerian Law School; and Mr. Dalmat Mamiso Junior, Secretary of the Panel, among others.
During the accreditation exercise, the team toured key facilities, including the Faculty’s library, lecture halls, seminar rooms, auditorium, and moot court, assessing their adequacy and compliance with CLE standards.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Chimezie A. Omeonu, expressed deep appreciation to the CLE team for their professional evaluation and constructive feedback. He praised the dedication of the Dean, Professor Michael Eteete Adam, alongside Dr. Maureen Bari-befe Koate, Dr. Charles Okpara, and other faculty members, for their relentless commitment to academic quality.
Professor Omeonu reaffirmed Clifford University’s commitment to producing competent, disciplined, and ethically grounded lawyers through a world-class Faculty of Law built on integrity and excellence.
