He made this statement in an address to pressmen after the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch 'A' Stream Two Orientation Course held at the NYSC Kaduna State Temporary Orientation Camp in Kurmi Mashi, Kaduna.

According to him, ‘Settle down in your places of Primary Assignment, respect the culture, norms, and traditions of the communities you are going to serve, and be ready to offer your selfless services to the communities. Always avoid unnecessary and nightly journeys. Once it is 6 p.m., break your journey and pass the night in safe places like military barracks, Corps Lodges, NYSC Formations, and Police Barracks, and continue the following day.’

General Ahmed additionally encouraged the Corps members to perfect the skills acquired in the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development post-camp training, to make themselves independent.

Some of the Corps members were excited about their upcoming adventure with the National Youth Service Corps.

“Some are happy with their PPA while others are sad. Let’s just be good ambassadors of NYSC and Nigeria’s Patriots. NYSC, thank you,” a corps member stated.

“Wahala for who dey find better PPA. Why will you not want to serve in a village? Palm wine, chicken, round table, arguments about football, breeze from trees,” another stated.

"Obeying the Clarion call. I can’t wait to embrace the opportunities ahead. Definitely ready for this adventure,” another stated.
