The esteemed statesman, mentor, and advocate for educational development was received by the Pro-Chancellor, Mallam Hassan Nuhu, who emphasized that Dr. Aliyu’s contributions are deeply woven into the university’s story.
During the visit, Mallam Nuhu reflected on Dr. Aliyu’s guiding principle: “The greatest liberating instrument is education.” He praised the former governor’s enduring impact on leadership, vision, and mentorship, noting that his influence extends far beyond titles and formal recognition.
In his response, Dr. Aliyu expressed profound honour at having the University Library named after him and commended Newgate University for its achievements. He highlighted how purposeful leadership anchored on education can shape communities and leave a lasting legacy.
