EFCC-ZTC UDUS Holds Inaugural Congress Meeting to Promote Anti-Corruption Advocacy

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission-Zero Tolerance for Corruption (EFCC-ZTC) chapter at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), held its maiden congress meeting on February 17, 2025.

The event, which took place at the BO9 Lecture Hall, marked the first gathering under the leadership of Red Eagle Ibrahim Shafiu Adamu.

 

The meeting aimed to mobilize students against financial crimes and reinforce the club's mission of promoting integrity and accountability within the university community. Red Eagle Kamaludeen Abdurasheed, Vice President 2, delivered the opening address, emphasizing the club's commitment to educating students on the dangers of fraud and corruption.

Discussions focused on strategies to strengthen the club's presence on campus, increase membership engagement, and execute impactful sensitization campaigns. Members actively participated, sharing observations, suggestions, and feedback aimed at enhancing the organization's effectiveness in anti-corruption advocacy.

 

The meeting outlined upcoming activities, including workshops, seminars, and peer-to-peer campaigns designed to educate students about financial crimes and the consequences of engaging in fraudulent activities.

In a post-event interview, Red Eagle Kamaludeen Abdurasheed reaffirmed the EFCC-ZTC's determination to curb corrupt practices on campus. "We will intensify efforts to curb campus-related fraud and empower students to reject shortcuts. True success lies in hard work and integrity, and we must all uphold these values in our academic and personal lives."

 

The EFCC-ZTC UDUS chapter is a student-led organization established in collaboration with the EFCC to promote anti-corruption advocacy within tertiary institutions. Through educational campaigns, workshops, and community engagement, the club aims to foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct among students.
