EKSU Appoints Dr Jadesola Babatola As Seventh Substantive Registrar

The Governing Council of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, has approved the appointment of Dr Jadesola Taiwo Babatola as the seventh substantive Registrar and Secretary to Council of the university.

The approval was given at the Council's regular meeting held on Thursday, 17th September, 2026, according to a statement by the Deputy Registrar and Head of the Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs, Mr Mayowa Ogunlola.

Ogunlola said the appointment, for a five-year term, will take effect from Monday, 5th October, 2026. 69fc

Until his appointment, Dr Babatola was a Deputy Registrar at EKSU. He joined the university's administrative service as an Administrative Officer I in 2001 after a brief stint in the private sector. 69fc

He has served as Registrar and Secretary to Council of the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration, Ondo from 2017 to 2018; Federal Polytechnic, Ekowe Island, Bayelsa State from 2018 to 2021; and Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo from 2021 to 2025. He also served as a Commissioner with the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board and was Global President of the EKSU Alumni Association in 2007. 69fc

Dr Babatola attended Christ's School, Ado-Ekiti, for his secondary education. He obtained a BA in History from Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti, now EKSU, in 1990, an MSc in Political Science with specialization in Public Administration from the University of Ibadan in 1997, and a PhD in History and International Studies from EKSU in 2019. 69fc

He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management, Chartered Institute of Administration, Institute of Management Consultants and Institute of Corporate Administration, as well as a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management and other professional bodies. 69fc

The university management wished him a successful tenure as Registrar and Secretary to Council.
