The Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, Professor Babatola Ayodele, has announced new steps by his administration to address the accommodation and electricity challenges facing students on campus.

The Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, Professor Babatola Ayodele, has announced new steps by his administration to address the accommodation and electricity challenges facing students on campus.

Speaking on the ongoing efforts, Ayodele explained that the university is committed to solving the hostel shortage, noting that majority of EKSU students currently reside on campus. According to him, renovation work has already commenced on the abandoned hostel located at the school gate, while discussions are ongoing with TETFund to support the construction of larger hostels for the EKSUITES.

“We intend to expand the capacity of our hostels to bring more students on campus. Renovation is underway at the abandoned hostel, and with TETFund’s support, we will deliver new, larger facilities that can ease the accommodation challenges,” he assured.

On electricity supply, the vice chancellor stated that his administration is actively working on restoring stable power to the school area. He added that once arrangements are finalized, proper communication will be made to the university community.

Ayodele also urged Heads of Departments (HODs) to expedite the processing of students’ results, stressing that timely release of academic records is a key priority for the institution.

The update underscores EKSU’s ongoing drive to improve student welfare and enhance the learning environment on campus.
