Elizade University Triumphs in National Law Debates, Outshining First-Generation Institutions

Elizade University has further consolidated its growing reputation for academic excellence by recording outstanding victories at two major national law debate competitions, emerging 1st position at Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) and 3rd position at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), in contests that featured some of Nigeria’s most prestigious and first-generation universities.

The competitions formed part of the Pan-Nigerian Inter-University Law Debate Competition, now in its 25th edition, a flagship intellectual platform that aggregates law undergraduates from across the country. The annual contest is designed to stimulate robust intellectual discourse on 21st-century legal and societal challenges, while sharpening participants’ advocacy, analytical reasoning, and persuasive communication skills.

At the 2026 Inter-school Quiz and Essay competition hosted by Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Elizade University’s Law students delivered a commanding performance, outshining all participating institutions to clinch the overall 1st position. This victory was followed by yet another impressive showing at the competition held at Obafemi Awolowo University, where Elizade University secured 3rd position among formidable contenders that included:
