Ex-Corper Who Sought Financial Help to Open POS Shop Finally Gets Job Offer, Scholarship
Umar Ibrahim Umar, the ex-NYSC member who gained fame as the “most iconic corper” on social media for his exceptional diligence during his service year, has received a job offer from former minister Isa Pantami. In addition to the job offer, Umar also revealed that Pantami offered to mentor him and support his educational pursuits.

Umar Ibrahim Umar, the ex-NYSC member who gained fame as the “most iconic corper” on social media for his exceptional diligence during his service year, has received a job offer from former minister Isa Pantami.
Recently, Umar revealed plans to start a POS business and solicited funds from the public. Nigerians responded generously, raising about N352,000 for him.

Following this, Umar received a job offer from former minister Isa Pantami in Gombe. He recounted, “We launched the fundraising campaign on 24th June, posted the story on all social media handles… and just within 24hrs, 80K was raised. It went to a total of 200K+ on the 2nd day. And the 3rd day, 352K was the sum…. that was the day Prof. Isah Ali Pantami quoted the campaign on X App, asking me to contact him privately.”

In addition to the job offer, Umar also revealed that Pantami offered to mentor him and support his educational pursuits. “Secondly, a fully funded postgraduate scholarship in any public university within Nigeria to further my studies. And lastly, he linked me to the MD of Alliance Power Generation Company Ltd for training in solar installations and maintenance, which aligns with my dreams in renewable energy,” Umar said.
