Faculty of Computing Secures Consecutive VC Football Cup Titles at CUSTECH Osara
The Faculty of Computing, Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, has emerged as the champion of the 2026 Vice-Chancellor's Football Competition after defeating the Faculty of Engineering in a thrilling final match held on Monday, June 15th, 2026, at the University Sports Complex, Osara.
The highly anticipated encounter ended 1–1 at the regulation time, forcing the match into a penalty shootout. The Faculty of Computing, who were also the champions of the 2025 edition, displayed remarkable composure and resilience to triumph over the Faculty of Engineering and successfully defend their title.
Speaking after the match, the Vice-Chancellor of CUSTECH, Osara, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, FNSE, commended the students and the organizers of the tournament for promoting unity, healthy competition, and meaningful engagement among students throughout the duration of the competition.
He noted that the tournament had provided an avenue for students to remain positively occupied while fostering friendship and teamwork across the University community.

The Vice-Chancellor further praised both finalists for exhibiting a high level of discipline and sportsmanship during the competition. He encouraged students to continue embracing sporting activities as a means of promoting physical fitness, leadership, and social cohesion within the institution.
Management staff present at the final match includes; the University Registrar, Mrs. Glory Ojochogu Yakubu; the University Librarian, Mrs. Helen Osebequen Chris-Israel; the Director of Academic Planning, Pharm. Muhammed Asuku Audu; the Dean of Student Affairs; and several other members of staff who joined students to witness the exciting conclusion of the tournament.
