Federal University Lokoja Vice Chancellor Commends Governor Ododo on Security, Workers’ Welfare

The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, has praised Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his efforts to improve security across the state and enhance the welfare of workers.

Professor Ibileye made the remarks while receiving the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KGIRS), Alhaji Sule Salihu Enehe, during a courtesy visit to the university on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Enehe was at the institution ahead of delivering the keynote address at the First International Hybrid Conference organized by the Department of Business Administration.

The Vice Chancellor described the KGIRS Chairman as a committed supporter of education whose contributions extend beyond tax administration, noting that his experience has continued to benefit public service and the development of Kogi State.

He also expressed appreciation to Governor Ododo for his administration’s achievements in strengthening security and improving workers’ welfare, as well as for the support extended to the Federal University Lokoja.

“I want to appreciate His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, for the good work he is doing in enhancing security across Kogi State and promoting workers’ welfare. We are also grateful for the support he has extended to Federal University Lokoja and for the commitments he has already begun implementing following our recent visit,” Ibileye said.

Reflecting on his relationship with the KGIRS Chairman, the Vice Chancellor said he had known Enehe for many years and expressed confidence in his ability to apply his extensive experience to the benefit of the state and its institutions.

Professor Ibileye also recalled Enehe’s financial support during one of the university’s convocation ceremonies, noting that the revenue chief contributed to the Protocol and Logistics Committee when Ibileye chaired the committee.

According to the Vice Chancellor, the visit presents an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the university and the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service.

“We do not see conferences like this as the end of a partnership. Rather, we see them as the beginning of a lifelong relationship,” he said.

Speaking earlier, Alhaji Sule Salihu Enehe said his visit was aimed at fostering stronger institutional collaboration while carrying out his official engagement at the university.

He explained that he was at the Federal University Lokoja to deliver the keynote address at the First International Hybrid Conference organized by the Department of Business Administration. The details of his presentation were not disclosed in the statement.
