Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta Holds 3rd Induction Ceremony for Food Science and Technology Graduates

The Department of Food Science and Technology (FST) at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), held its 3rd Induction Ceremony, welcoming 81 graduates into the membership of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST).

The event, which took place on November 13, 2025, marked a significant milestone in the department's tradition of excellence and professional development.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Olawale Dairo, congratulated the inductees and emphasized the importance of dedication, discipline, and lifelong learning in their professional growth. He commended the College and Department for their efforts in training competent professionals capable of transforming the nation's food sector through research, innovation, and service.

The Dean of the College of Food Science and Human Ecology (COLFHEC), Prof. Adebukunola Omemu, expressed pride in the new professionals, noting that their induction signifies a call to responsibility and ethical practice. The Head of the Department of Food Science and Technology, Prof. Olatundun Kajihausa, welcomed guests and highlighted the benefits of NIFST membership, including professional networking, collaboration, and advancement opportunities.

The ceremony featured goodwill messages from the National President of NIFST, Dr. Bola Osinowo, and the Chairperson of the NIFST Western Chapter, Prof. Bolanle Akinwande, who congratulated the inductees and urged them to drive national progress through innovation and entrepreneurship. The highlight of the event was the presentation of certificates to the newly inducted members.
