Federal University of Lafia Unbundles College of Medicine, Creates College of Health Sciences

The Governing Council of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has approved the unbundling of the College of Medicine into two separate colleges, effective immediately. This decision was made during the council's 22nd Regular Meeting, held on March 19-20, 2025.

 

As a result of this development, FULafia will now have two distinct colleges: the College of Medicine and the College of Health Sciences. The new College of Health Sciences will comprise four faculties.

According to a statement issued by the Registrar of FULafia and Secretary of the Governing Council, Malam Nuradeen Abdu, the unbundling was necessary to streamline and facilitate administrative processes within the university.

This restructuring is expected to enhance the academic and administrative efficiency of the university, ultimately benefiting students, faculty, and staff.
