The Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas (FPOG), Bonny, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Century Medicaid Services Limited, a Health Management Organisation, aimed at improving healthcare delivery and overall wellbeing within the institution.

Health and wellness were described as foundational pillars of sustainable productivity, with emphasis on how maintaining physical and mental health enhances focus, stabilizes energy levels, and improves overall performance within academic and work environments.

The Rector, Dr Victor Okolobah, described as “a square peg in the Polytechnic square hole,” was commended for taking proactive steps to strengthen healthcare services on campus, reflecting a leadership approach rooted in institutional efficiency and staff welfare.

The signing ceremony took place on Monday, May 25, 2026, with the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Century Medicaid Services Limited, Dr Ikechukwu U. Odo, leading the visiting delegation alongside Dr Chioma Nwankpa, Japheth Lucky, and Isaac Effiong.

The partnership is designed to enhance resource sharing and improve emergency response through effective referral management between the institution’s medical centre and the health management organisation.

According to the Polytechnic, the collaboration represents a strategic move toward strengthening institutional healthcare capacity and ensuring timely medical intervention when required.

The statement added that the development aligns with the institution’s broader commitment to operational excellence and staff and student welfare.
