FUGA Vice-Chancellor Reaffirms Drive to Produce Environmentally Conscious Graduates

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Gashua (FUGA), Professor Yaqub Ahmed Geidam, has reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to producing environmentally conscious graduates through its Green Code Initiative.

‎Professor Geidam made this known while receiving officials of the North-East Arid Zone Development Programme (NEAZDP) during a courtesy visit to his office on Friday, June 5, 2026. The visit formed part of activities marking the 2026 World Environment Day celebration.

‎The Vice-Chancellor explained that a central component of the initiative is a policy requiring every student to plant and nurture at least one tree before graduation. He noted that the programme is designed to instill a culture of environmental responsibility among students while encouraging their active participation in conservation efforts.
