FUL Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jacqueline Badaki, Receives Fellowship Award from Zoological Society of Nigeria
The Zoological Society of Nigeria (ZSN) has honoured the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Professor Jacqueline Azumi Badaki, with its prestigious Fellowship Award (fZSN).

The recognition highlights her exceptional contributions to the advancement of Zoology, scientific research, and environmental development in Nigeria.
The award was presented during the Honours and Awards Ceremony of the Society’s 18th Annual Conference, held at Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan, from 25th to 28th November 2025. The conference was themed “Healthy Ecosystem: Path to Productivity and Sustainability.”
Another academic from FUL, Professor Adang Kombe Lucas, was also conferred with the Fellowship Award in acknowledgment of his significant impact on the discipline.

Before becoming the first female Deputy Vice-Chancellor of FUL, Professor Badaki served as the Director of the University’s Zoo and Conservatory (FUL ZAC) and previously held the position of Head of the Department of Zoology. A distinguished Professor of Parasitology and Entomology, she has made influential contributions to research, teaching, and public health.
In an interview with the Nigerian Television Authority shortly after receiving the award, Professor Badaki emphasized the central role of Zoology in advancing Nigeria’s public health landscape, particularly in disease control and prevention.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, congratulated both honourees, describing their achievements as a testament to FUL’s growing reputation for academic excellence.
