FULafia AKARO Centre Trains Students, Staff in Modern Accounting Skills

The Accounting Knowledge and Resource Opportunity Centre of the Federal University of Lafia has trained students and staff in digital accounting and financial technology to enhance their professional skills.

The five-day workshop exposed participants to computerised accounting systems, cloud accounting, digital workflows, Excel for accounting and analysis, and Enterprise Resource Planning.

Speaking while presenting certificates to participants, the Director of AKARO, Dr Tijani Ahmed Ajayi, thanked the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. M.I. Kida, for supporting the programme.

He also appreciated the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, for establishing the Centre.

He said the training was designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical demands of the modern workplace where automation, cloud technology and data-driven financial management are becoming increasingly important.

The Director disclosed that AKARO would soon commence another phase of the programme and make additional courses available to more members of the University community.

He urged government and other stakeholders to support initiatives aimed at equipping young people with practical, technology-driven skills.
