The Students’ Association of the College of Health Sciences, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), marked Day Three of its association week with a free health screening outreach for members of the University community.

The exercise, held at the University’s Take-Off Site Campus, provided staff, students and members of the host community with an opportunity to assess their health status through various medical tests.

Services offered included screening for Hepatitis B and C, HIV/AIDS, malaria, blood sugar levels, blood pressure, Body Mass Index (BMI), ultrasound scans and other health checks.

Declaring the event open, the Provost of the College of Health Sciences and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Aleruchi Chuku, encouraged participants to take advantage of the initiative.

“Health is wealth,” Prof. Chuku stated, emphasising the importance of regular medical check-ups and awareness of one’s health status.
