The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, has announced a comprehensive plan to revitalise sports activities within the institution, placing a premium on the physical well-being and welfare of both staff and students. 

Prof. Kida disclosed this vision during a university-wide staff-student jogging event, noting that the integration of sports into the academic environment is a key pillar of his developmental blueprint for the university.

To ensure the sustainability of the program, the Vice-Chancellor outlined several strategic measures:

Fiscal Accountability: Implementing strict monitoring of sports funds to ensure transparent and efficient utilization.

Logistics & Equipment: The provision of modern sports kits to encourage participation.

Community Building: Using athletic activities to foster mutual respect and a sense of unity across the university community.

The revitalisation kickoff culminated in a spirited friendly football match at the University’s sports field. The FULafia team secured a 2–1 victory against Warriors FC in a closely contested encounter.

Following the match, Prof. Kida underscored his commitment by making cash donations to both teams, rewarding the sportsmanship and effort displayed by the participants.

The initiative marks a significant step in the administration’s efforts to balance academic rigour with physical fitness and social cohesion.
