The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has secured a notable advancement in the 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, ranking 11th among Nigerian universities and placing in the 1501+ global category.
This marks a significant improvement from the previous year, where FUOYE ranked 12th nationally, reflecting the University's consistent progress in academic excellence, research, and innovation.
FUOYE is listed in the 1501+ global category alongside several other reputable Nigerian institutions, including LAUTECH, LASU, OAU, UNIBEN, FUTA, and UNIPORT, among others.
Leadership Commendation:
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, commended the university community for their collective effort, attributing the advancement to strategic planning, quality research, and innovation-driven initiatives.
Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olubunmi Shittu, further praised the contributions of staff and students, calling the improved ranking a testament to FUOYE’s commitment to research excellence and impactful community engagement.
Prof. Joshua O. Ogunwole, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, SPRIL, highlighted that the progress is a result of a focused strategic plan emphasizing three key areas:
