The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has raised an alarm over fraudulent activities by impostors demanding money from unsuspecting members of the public in connection with its ongoing 2025/2026 admission process.
In a statement issued by the university, candidates, parents, guardians, and the general public were strongly advised not to pay money to any individual or group for services such as checking results, uploading results, or influencing admissions in any way. The institution stressed that admission into FUTA is strictly merit-driven and cannot be influenced.

The university further warned against engaging with third-party sources or unofficial phone numbers, reiterating that all legitimate information on admissions is accessible only through its official channels:
- FUTA Bulletins
- Official Website: www.futa.edu.ng
- Official Facebook Page
- Official Twitter (X) Handle
The statement emphasized that registration for Post-UTME and all related payments must be carried out exclusively through the university’s official website and approved channels.
The Registrar, who signed the statement, urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudsters, reaffirming that FUTA does not request or accept payments into private accounts for any reason.
