FUTH Lafia Amenity Clinic Successfully Performs First Major Surgery on Linear Rail System Application on a three-Decade Patient

A patient who had waited for over a decade has finally found relief at FUTH Lafia through their Amenity Clinic after successfully performing their first major Surgery on linear rail system Application on him, bringing his three decades of waiting to an end.

The surgery was successfully carried out by the team of Surgeons led by Doctor Aboki O. Yakubu on the patient who came through the Amenity Clinic, which was fixed within a week and was done on Friday, 13th March, 2026.

Dr. Aboki explained that the case is "Linear Rail System Application" and Culticotomy as the patient had Short limb and had to undergo an implant in order to elongate the limb so that it will be equal to the opposite side of the leg by causing "Distraction osteogenesis" so that more new tissues will be laid and new bones will emerge from the pressure.

DCMAC Clinical, Dr. Amgbalaga Alexander who represented the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Ikrama Hassan, appreciated the team led by Dr. Adeleke Yakubu, for pulling very fast within the limited time the Amenity Clinic was established, adding that the hospital management is committed to expanding Amenity Services and improving patients care

He further stressed that the management will keep advocating for the more Amenity services and patients, especially the surgical patients.

Overwhelmingly, both the patient and the patient's relatives, appreciated and commended FUTH Lafia for a successful surgery after about three decades of waiting, explaining that there were lots of pressures for them to go to either Kano, Lagos and Diaspora for this particular case but it was successfully done here in FUTH Lafia.

The Amenity Clinic is an alternative pathway created by the hospital for patient who do not want to follow the regular clinic services.
