UNIABUJA Orients 700 IJMB and Remedial Students for 2025/2026 Academic Session

The University's School of Advanced Basic and Remedial Studies, today held an orientation exercise for no fewer than 700 students admitted into the IJMB and Remedial programmes of the Directorate for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, represented by the Dean of Students Affairs, Professor Simon Malang Kawe, encouraged the students to remain disciplined and committed to their studies, noting that admission into the University’s main programmes would depend on meeting the required academic standards.

Speaking earlier, the Acting Director of the School, Dr Angela Oboh, said the orientation was organised to guide students on important issues affecting their stay within the University community.

The orientation programme brought together staff members of critical units of the University for an engaging and informative session aimed at promoting discipline, awareness, and academic excellence.

The keynote address titled " The Influence of Peer Group Pressure on the Nigerian Child" was delivered by Professor Otaki Osana Alanana of the department of Sociology.
