KASU Opens Postgraduate Admission Applications for 2026/2027 Academic Session

Kaduna State University (KASU) has announced the commencement of online applications for admission into its postgraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The application window opened on Thursday, August 20, 2026, and will close on Saturday, October 31, 2026.

Interested applicants are required to visit the University Application Portal:

https://applicant.safapply.com/kasupg

Applicants can access the application procedure and list of available postgraduate programmes through the portal.

The processing fee is ₦10,000 for Nigerian applicants and $20 for non-Nigerian applicants.

Admission Requirements

Postgraduate Diploma

Candidates must possess:

i. Five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, at O’ Level in a maximum of two sittings.

ii. A relevant Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, not lower than Third Class; or

iii. A Bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class (Lower Division) in an unrelated field may be considered; or

iv. Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in a related field of study from a Polytechnic or any recognised institution.

v. Candidates with a Pass in a Bachelor’s degree, Higher National Diploma or its equivalent will not be considered for admission.

vi. Candidates must possess an NYSC Discharge, Exemption or Exclusion Certificate.

Professional Master’s Programmes

Candidates must possess:

i. Five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, at O’ Level in a maximum of two sittings.

ii. A First Degree from Kaduna State University or any other recognised university in the relevant field, with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division); or

iii. A candidate with a Third Class degree or HND and Postgraduate Diploma from Kaduna State University or any recognised institution, with a CGPA of not less than 3.50.

iv. Candidates must possess an NYSC Discharge, Exemption or Exclusion Certificate.

Academic Master’s Programmes

Candidates must possess:

i. Five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, at O’ Level in a maximum of two sittings.

ii. A First Degree from Kaduna State University or any other recognised university in the relevant field, with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 in the College of Science, Computing & Engineering and a Second Class (Lower Division) in other Colleges.

iii. Candidates with a CGPA lower than the requirement stated above, but who possess a Postgraduate Diploma with a CGPA of not less than 3.50, may be considered.

iv. Candidates must possess an NYSC Discharge, Exemption or Exclusion Certificate.

MPhil/PhD Programmes

Candidates must possess:

i. Five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, at O’ Level in a maximum of two sittings.

ii. A First Degree from Kaduna State University or any other recognised university in the relevant field, with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division); and

iii. An Academic Master’s degree from Kaduna State University or any recognised institution, with a CGPA below the requirements for PhD admission.

iv. Candidates must possess an NYSC Discharge, Exemption or Exclusion Certificate.

Doctorate Degree Programmes

Candidates must possess:

i. Five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, at O’ Level in a maximum of two sittings.

ii. A First Degree from Kaduna State University or any other recognised university in the relevant field, with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division); and

iii. An Academic Master’s degree from Kaduna State University or any recognised institution, with a CGPA of 4.00 in the College of Science, Computing & Engineering and 3.50 in other Colleges.

iv. Each applicant is required to prepare a tentative research proposal of between 1,000 and 1,500 words, which must be uploaded at the point of application.

v. Candidates must possess an NYSC Discharge, Exemption or Exclusion Certificate.

i. Begin the application by creating a profile with an email address as the username and creating a desired password. Applicants can continue the registration by logging into their profile.

ii. Proceed to complete the online application form.

iii. Candidates offered provisional admission into M.Sc./M.A., MPhil/PhD and PhD programmes will be required to present transcripts of their academic records and original copies of their credentials, including NYSC Discharge, Exemption or Exclusion Certificate, at the point of registration.
