FUTH Lafia Marks World Hypertension Day with Health Outreach at St. William’s Cathedral

The Department of Internal Medicine, FUTH Lafia marked World Hypertension Day today with a health outreach at St. William’s Cathedral, themed, “Controlling Hypertension Together: Check Blood Pressure Regularly, Defeat the Silent Killer.”

Dr. Augustine Enenche, HOD Internal Medicine and Dr. Ari Khalid, a Senior Registrar, educated worshippers on the dangers of hypertension, the need for healthy living, and the importance of regular blood pressure checks.

Free blood pressure screening was conducted for attendees, while those with high readings received medical advice and referrals for proper follow-up care.

The outreach promoted preventive healthcare and community awareness on hypertension, often called the “silent killer.”
