The Honorable Member representing Bichi Federal Constituency, Honorable Engineer Dr. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, has commissioned newly constructed male and female hostels at the Federal College of Education (Technical) Bichi's permanent site. The commissioning ceremony took place on February 28, 2025.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Abubakar highlighted his unwavering commitment to enhancing infrastructure at the institution. He announced plans for additional development projects, including the construction of a road network and administrative buildings, aimed at improving the college’s facilities and overall learning environment.

The Honorable Member expressed his gratitude for the recognition bestowed upon him by the college. As a gesture of appreciation, the institution named the newly built female hostel after his mother, Hajiya Halima Kabir Abubakar, while the male hostel was named after his grandfather, the Late Sarkin Bichi, Alhaji Mustapha Almu.
