KHAIRUN Holds 4th Congregation Meeting, Reaffirms Commitment to Staff Welfare
Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, KHAIRUN, held its 4th Congregation Meeting on Wednesday, 30th September 2026, bringing together Management and staff to deliberate on matters relating to the development and administration of the University.
The meeting provided a platform for direct engagement, allowing staff to express views, raise concerns and offer suggestions towards the advancement of the institution.
Chairman of the Standing Committee on Congregation, Abdulrahim Salga, welcomed staff and urged them to take advantage of the meeting to present issues affecting their work and welfare. He said constructive contributions from staff are essential to identifying challenges and finding solutions.
Chairman of the Congregation and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, appreciated staff for their commitment to the growth of the University. He commiserated with those who lost loved ones and congratulated those blessed with newborns. He also conveyed greetings from the Board of Trustees, University Council and Proprietors.
Professor Garba briefed staff on the Federal Government’s new policy on university ranking and its implications for KHAIRUN, stressing the need to improve academic standards, research output and teaching quality. He also informed the congregation of forthcoming accreditation and visits by professional regulatory bodies, urging all staff to ensure adequate preparation and compliance with prescribed standards.

He gave updates on infrastructural projects, including the near completion of the Biochemistry Laboratory and progress on the Engineering Workshop, as well as ongoing efforts to strengthen power supply through the installation of solar batteries. He also addressed staff training, capacity development and the ongoing promotion exercise.
The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed Management’s commitment to staff welfare and to providing a conducive working environment for effective service delivery, noting that collective commitment remains key to achieving the University’s objectives.
Issues raised by staff were deliberated upon with appropriate resolutions reached.
