KHAIRUN Hosts Multi-University Capacity Building Workshop to Strengthen Financial Governance

The Bursary Department of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN) has organised a three-day capacity building training for bursary and internal audit staff, held from Wednesday, 14th January to Friday, 16th January, 2026.

The training programme brought together participants from KHAIRUN as well as sister universities across Kano State, providing a platform for knowledge sharing, professional development, and the strengthening of best practices in financial management and internal control systems within tertiary institutions.

Declaring the training open, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, emphasized the importance of continuous capacity building in enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in university financial administration. He commended the Bursary Department for initiating the training and specifically praised the Bursar for her commitment to staff development. The Vice-Chancellor wished all participants a fruitful and rewarding learning experience.

In her vote of thanks, the Bursar, Dr. Naja’atu Bala Rabiu, expressed appreciation to the university management for its unwavering support and thanked all participants for their active engagement throughout the training. She reiterated the Bursary Department’s commitment to continuous professional development.
