KHAIRUN Management Visits Kano State Deputy Governor, Strengthens Partnership on Education Development
The management of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, on Monday, 3rd November 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor of Kano State and Commissioner for Higher Education, His Excellency, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo.
The management of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, on Monday, 3rd November 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor of Kano State and Commissioner for Higher Education, His Excellency, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo.

During the visit, Professor Garba expressed appreciation to the Deputy Governor for the warm reception and opportunity to engage with the state leadership. He gave a brief overview of the university’s rapid growth, achievements, and distinct academic philosophy, emphasizing KHAIRUN’s three compulsory programmes—Qur’anic Recitation and Memorization, Moral Lessons, and Entrepreneurship—which reflect the enduring legacy of its founder, the late Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu.
The Vice-Chancellor also highlighted the Abdul Samad Rabiu Foundation (ASR Africa) scholarship initiative, which recently offered scholarships to 500 Nigerians, describing it as a testament to the university’s commitment to educational inclusiveness and empowerment. He appealed for the Deputy Governor’s continued support, prayers, and partnership toward the sustained progress of KHAIRUN.

Responding, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo commended the Vice-Chancellor and his management team for their visionary leadership and the university’s remarkable contributions to higher education in Kano State. He congratulated Professor Garba on his appointment as the pioneer Vice-Chancellor and described KHAIRUN as one of the fastest-growing private universities in Nigeria.
The Deputy Governor lauded the university’s alignment with the state government’s declaration of a state of emergency on education, noting that such proactive engagement demonstrates KHAIRUN’s dedication to social responsibility and educational transformation. He assured the management of the continued support and collaboration of the state government in promoting academic excellence, innovation, and moral development.

Speaking on the significance of the visit, the Acting Director of Corporate Affairs and Marketing, Bilal Dahiru Tijjani, said the meeting provided a valuable platform to deepen the university’s partnership with the state government in strengthening higher education and fostering community development across Kano State.
