KHAIRUN VC Delivers Paper on Transforming Science Education Through Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Vice-Chancellor of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, delivered a paper titled Transforming Science Education Through Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the 21st Century Environment at Sa'adatu Rimi College of Education, Kumbotso, Kano.

The paper, delivered as part of the College's academic engagement, focused on the need to reposition science education to respond effectively to the demands of the 21st century through innovation, entrepreneurship, creativity and practical skills development.

Pof. Garba emphasised the importance of equipping students and educators with the knowledge and competencies required to address contemporary challenges, create opportunities and contribute meaningfully to economic and technological development.

He further highlighted the role of institutions of learning in fostering an environment where scientific knowledge can be translated into practical solutions, innovative ideas and sustainable entrepreneurial ventures.

The Vice-Chancellor also stressed the importance of stronger collaboration among educational institutions, industry and other relevant stakeholders in promoting research, innovation and entrepreneurship as key drivers of national development.

The engagement provided an opportunity for academic leaders, educators and students to reflect on emerging trends in science education and the need for continuous innovation in preparing learners for the future.
