KIU Partners with ITF to Equip Students for SIWES Success

The Acting Head of Training at the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Mr. Lazarus Abutazeye, speaking on behalf of the Director-General, has urged students selected for the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) induction to take full advantage of the opportunity. He described their inclusion in the programme as a privilege and encouraged them to make the most of the six-month training period.

Mr. Abutazeye emphasized the need for students to translate their classroom knowledge into practical experience. He advised them to remain committed, proactive, and productive in their various places of attachment, noting that the training would serve as a solid foundation for their future careers.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor Kashim Ibrahim University, Professor Babagana Gutti, welcomed the ITF officials and expressed appreciation for organizing the orientation programme. He charged the students to strictly adhere to the rules and guidelines governing the SIWES scheme.

Professor Gutti further explained that the orientation programme is designed to adequately prepare students for their industrial training. According to him, it aims to equip participants with the necessary knowledge, skills, and understanding required to succeed during their attachment in different organizations.
