Kogi State Polytechnic Rector, Prof. Avidime, Drives Institutional Reform with New Strategic Appointments

In a bid to strengthen institutional efficiency and reinforce operational standards, Kogi State Polytechnic Rector, Prof. S.S. Avidime, embarked earlier this week on a hands-on campus tour to assess administrative operations at the Directorate of Information Technology and Resource Center (DITRC) and its annexes.

The tour, which took place on Tuesday, 24th February, included an unannounced visit where he inspected technological equipment, reviewed the JAMB registration point, and engaged with staff to evaluate dedication and operational readiness, ensuring alignment with the Polytechnic’s strategic objectives under his visionary leadership.

‎Following the assessments, the Rector approved key strategic appointments to bolster leadership and enhance efficient service delivery. ‎Similarly, the Rector approved the appointment of John Amos Onimisi as Acting Co-ordinator, Directorate of Public Relations at Kogi State Polytechnic. This appointment is strategically significant to the Polytechnic’s institutional advancement, as it strengthens the coordination of information management, enhances corporate visibility, and promotes coherent stakeholder engagement.

‎John Amos Onimisi is a graduate of Political Science from Kogi State University, now Prince Abubakar Audu University. He is presently a Lecturer and Researcher at Kogi State Polytechnic, where he engages in teaching, research, and intellectual discourse, previously with the School of General and Communication Studies, but recently redeployed to the Department of Public Administration.

John Amos Onimisi excels at transforming complex administrative and political information into clear, compelling messages that foster public understanding and trust. With expertise in strategic communication and media engagement, he can effectively promote transparency, enhance stakeholder interaction, and strengthen positive perception of institutions in both public and academic spheres.

‎By positioning the Directorate to drive transparent communication and project the institution’s reforms, achievements, and academic milestones effectively, the appointment reinforces public confidence and supports the broader agenda of institutional growth and reputation building under the distinguished leadership of Prof. S.S. Avidime. ‎In complementary fashion, the concurrent appointment of an Acting Co-ordinator for DITRC creates a strategic synergy between digital infrastructure and institutional communication, ensuring that technological systems efficiently support information dissemination, data management, and modern administrative processes.

‎Together, these appointments signal a deliberate alignment of technology and public engagement, laying a solid operational foundation as the Rector’s administration at Kogi State Polytechnic gains full momentum.
