Kogi State University, Kabba, hosted its second annual Democracy Lecture on June 12, 2025, to discuss the decline of ideological politics in Nigeria.

The event brought together scholars, policy thinkers, and academics to examine the shifting dynamics of Nigeria's political landscape.

The keynote lecture, titled "Final Nails on the Coffin of Ideological Politics: Nomadic Politics and the Challenges of Party Switching in Nigeria," was delivered by Professor Shola Omotola, a distinguished political scientist. The event was chaired by Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja.
