Kwara State University Lauded for Initiatives to Reduce Youth Unemployment

The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, has commended Kwara State University (KWASU) for initiating programs aimed at reducing youth unemployment in the state.

The commendation was made at a one-day entrepreneurship workshop organized for Arabic and Islamic schools by KWASU's Centre for Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training (CTVET).

Dr. Olohungbebe described the initiative as timely, noting that expanding access to practical, skills-based education will strengthen human capital development in the state. KWASU's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, emphasized the university's readiness to partner with Arabic and Islamic schools to develop a framework for entrepreneurship training.

The workshop aimed to equip educators and administrators with knowledge and strategies for integrating entrepreneurship training into Arabic and Islamic education, highlighting the importance of merging Islamic scholarship with entrepreneurship to empower learners economically .
