KWASU Announces Major Academic Promotion

The Governing Council of Kwara State University (KWASU) has approved the promotion of forty-five (45) academic staff members to the professorial cadre, marking a significant milestone in the institution's commitment to academic growth and research excellence.

The elevation includes 20 new Full Professors and 25 Associate Professors across various faculties. The Faculty of Engineering and Technology recorded the highest number of new full professors, followed by the Faculties of Arts and Pure and Applied Sciences.

Professors Sikiru Ottan Abdulrahman, Kabiru Mustapha, Fadeyibi Adeshina, Adeniyi Ganiyu Adeogun, Samson Odeyemi, and Lambe Mutalub Adesina. Professors Tajudeen Yusuf, Saeedat Bolajoko Aliyu, Reuben Kehinde Akano, and Ayoola Oladunke Aransi.

The 25 newly promoted Associate Professors represent a diverse range of specializations, with a notable surge in Information and Communication Technology, focusing on Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, and Information Security. Other promotions spanned the Faculties of Education, Agriculture, Arts, and Management Sciences.

This mass promotion underscores KWASU’s trajectory as a leading hub for specialized research—ranging from Environmental Toxicology and Post-Harvest Technology to Molecular Modelling and AI.
