KWASU Appoints Professor Shehu Abdulganiyu Salau as Director of Centre for Agricultural Sustainability and Transformation
Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has appointed Professor Shehu Abdulganiyu Salau as the Director of the Centre for Agricultural Sustainability and Transformation.
Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has appointed Professor Shehu Abdulganiyu Salau as the Director of the Centre for Agricultural Sustainability and Transformation.
The appointment was conveyed in a letter dated November 18, 2025, and approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, with the Registrar signing the communication.
Professor Salau, from the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension Services, is a seasoned academic in Agricultural Economics with over fifteen years of experience in tertiary education, research administration, and rural and community development. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics, alongside an MBA and MSc in Agricultural Economics, all from the University of Ilorin.
Throughout his tenure at KWASU, Professor Salau has held key academic and administrative roles, including Head of Department, Sub-Dean, ASUU Chairman, and membership in various high-level university and national committees. He has led and contributed to significant TETFund-supported research projects on agricultural production economics, food security, rural development, climate resilience, and sustainable agricultural systems.
A prolific scholar, Professor Salau has over 290 Google Scholar citations and more than 50 peer-reviewed publications in both international and national journals, reflecting his contribution to agricultural science, policy development, institutional governance, curriculum innovation, and capacity building. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the African Association of Agricultural Economists (AAAE) and the National Association of Agricultural Economists (NAAE).
