KWASU Vice-Chancellor Represents KU8+ Consortium at 11th AWAU Conference in Freetown
Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, was prominently represented at the 11th Association of West African Universities (AWAU) Conference, held from 17th to 20th February 2026, at the Bintumani Conference Centre.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, led the university’s delegation to the high-level academic summit, which focused on the theme: "Research Culture: Bridging Innovation with Quality Assurance in West Africa."
A significant highlight of the event was Professor Jimoh’s delivery of a goodwill message on behalf of the KU8+, the Consortium of Universities in Kwara State, Nigeria. His address underscored the importance of regional synergy and the shared commitment of Kwara-based institutions to advancing academic excellence and research innovation across the sub-continent.
The conference brought together academic leaders and policy experts from across West Africa to discuss strategies for fostering a robust research environment that balances groundbreaking innovation with rigorous quality standards.
