LASU Epe Campus to Receive 200 Computers as NITDA Approves Digital Innovation Hub Following Chancellor's Intervention
Lagos State University is set to strengthen digital learning at its Epe Campus following approval by National Information Technology Development Agency of a Digital Innovation Hub to be equipped with 200 desktop computers and other digital infrastructure.
The intervention, facilitated by Chancellor, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, Telade IV, Alara of Ilara Kingdom, represents significant step towards expanding access to modern digital learning facilities.
In response, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo, authorised necessary institutional preparations and directed relevant units to ensure readiness.
Chancellor's Intervention Secures NITDA Approval
Approval followed formal request by Chancellor to Director-General of NITDA, Mr Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, seeking digital infrastructure support for Epe Campus.
Chancellor emphasised need to bridge digital infrastructure gap and provide students tools required to become creators and innovators rather than merely consumers of technology. He reaffirmed University's readiness to provide necessary support for smooth implementation and long-term sustainability.

Request subsequently received NITDA's approval, paving way for provision of 200 desktop systems and complementary infrastructure.
Professor Badejo expressed appreciation to Chancellor for efforts in facilitating intervention.
NITDA Representative Inspects Proposed Site
As part of preparatory process, representative of NITDA, Mr Olatunji, visited Epe Campus on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, to inspect site earmarked for proposed Hub. He was received by Head of Campus, Professor Elkannah Oyetunji. Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Professor Kamilu Oyedeko, was also present.
The inspection provided opportunity to assess location and consider infrastructural requirements.
Digital Innovation Hub to Advance Learning, Research and Innovation
Proposed Hub is expected to be equipped with 200 desktop systems, appropriate software, printers, interactive learning boards, reliable internet connectivity, solar-powered inverter system, air-conditioning, chairs, tables and other supporting facilities. When operational, facility will expand access to computing resources while providing enabling environment for practical ICT training, digital literacy, academic research and collaborative learning.
Beyond immediate benefits, Hub presents opportunities to encourage student innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration and development of technology-based solutions.
As preparations continue, LASU remains committed to providing necessary cooperation to support successful establishment.
