In a remarkable achievement, Dr. Lilly Owusu Frimpong, the overall best graduating student, has emerged as the Best Female Medical Student at the University of Cape Coast (UCC). Dr. Frimpong, who participated in the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), received this honor during the university's commencement ceremony.

Dr. Frimpong not only secured the title of Overall Best Female Medical Student but also claimed two additional awards for Best in Internal Medicine & Therapeutics and Best in Microbiology. Her outstanding performance marked a triumphant moment, as she graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree.

Dr. Frimpong's achievements extend beyond academics, as she served as a House Officer at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital from May 2022 to May 2023. In this role, she played a key role in patient care across various departments, including internal medicine, obstetrics, and gynaecology.

Sharing her experience on LinkedIn, Dr. Frimpong reflected on her responsibilities at the hospital, stating, "I was the first in the hierarchy of doctors to see patients when they first presented to my facility." She further detailed her involvement in making diagnoses, requesting investigations, and initiating treatment.

Continuing her medical journey, Dr. Frimpong has taken on a new role as a Senior House Officer at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, focusing on pediatric care. She highlighted her experience in managing cases at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), pediatric emergency unit, and the outpatient department.
