Lagos State University (LASU) Unveils Undergraduate Admission Requirements for 2024

Here are the admission requirements for the Lagos State University (LASU) for both UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination) and Direct Entry candidates:

UTME Admission Requirements:

1. Age Requirement: Candidates must have reached the age of 16.
2. O’level Result: Candidates must have at least 6 (six) “Cs (Credits)” grades in their O’level result. These credits must include English Language, Mathematics, and three other subjects related to their chosen course of study. For example, if a candidate wants to study law, they must have a “C” in English Language, Mathematics, Government/History, Economics, and Literature in English.

   3. JAMB UTME Score: Candidates must score at least 190 in the JAMB UTME examination.

   4. LASU Post UTME Screening: Candidates must take the LASU post UTME screening examination and perform well (the specific performance criteria depend on the chosen course of study).

 5. One Sitting Results: Only one sitting result is accepted for admission into LASU.

 6. Correct Subject Combination: Candidates must choose the correct subject combination for their desired courses.

 7. Cutoff Marks: Finally, candidates must meet the stipulated cutoff marks for their courses to gain admission into the university.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements:

1. Age Requirement: Candidates must have reached the age of 16.
2. O’level Result: Candidates must possess at least five (5) Credits in their O’level result, including English Language and Mathematics. However, two sitting results are not allowed.
3. JAMB Direct Entry Form: Candidates are expected to obtain the JAMB Direct Entry form from JAMB to apply.

   

4. Certificates: Candidates should have any of the following certificates: OND, ND, NCE, IJMB, Cambridge A level, BSc, HND, or ICAN.
