LASU 13th Governing Council Kicks Off Annual Campus Tour with Main Campus Facility Inspection
The newly constituted 13th Governing Council of Lagos State University (LASU), led by Chairman Mr. Babatunde Ogala, SAN, commenced its annual campus tour with a thorough inspection of facilities at the University’s Main Campus, Ojo.

The exercise marks the first official campus tour under the current Council.
The tour began at the Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, with the Council joined by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, principal officers, and members of University Management. The delegation conducted a detailed assessment of ongoing and completed infrastructure projects across the campus.
Key facilities visited included the new Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu University Library, where the team toured the expansive reading halls, Special Education Unit, and Computer-Based Test Centre, guided by Acting Director of Works, Engr. Solomon Salami. The Council also inspected the LASU Tech Hub Complex and the new Faculty of Management Sciences building, both under construction.
The delegation toured student hostels, including Senator Oluremi Tinubu Hall and Sulaimon Adeshina Raji Ashade Hall, as well as a 22-room hostel project donated by Alhaja Kadijat Omotayo Kareem, set to accommodate 60 students. Other stops included the three-storey Cultural Research Centre donated by HRM Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, the Federal Government-funded ICT Centre with 2,000-seat CBT capacity, and the construction sites for the School of Creativity, Culture and Tourism Studies and the five-storey Academic Resource and Conference Centre.

The inspection concluded at the 750-seat auditorium donated by Hon. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, after which the Council returned to the Senate Building. The next phase of the campus tour is scheduled for the Badagry Campus on Wednesday, 18th February 2026.
