This development reinforces LASU’s leadership in technology-driven education and prepares graduates for the evolving digital economy.
The approval, communicated in a letter dated 3rd November 2025 and signed by the Acting Director of Academic Planning, Mr. Abubakar M. Girei, on behalf of the NUC Executive Secretary, followed a comprehensive resource verification visit. Panels of experts assessed the University’s human and material resources to ensure readiness for the proposed programmes.

The newly approved programmes, effective from the 2025/2026 academic session, are:
- B.Sc. Cyber Security
- B.Sc. Software Engineering
- B.Sc. Information and Communication Technology
- B.Sc. Data Science
This approval currently applies solely to full-time study modes and highlights LASU’s commitment to offering cutting-edge, globally relevant computing education.
