LASU VC Tasks University Library on Sustaining Accreditation Success
The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Professor Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo, has charged the University Library to sustain its contributions to the institution’s accreditation successes and continue strengthening its support for teaching, learning and research.

Professor Badejo gave the charge on Monday, September 28, 2026, when members of the University Library, led by the University Librarian, Dr. Omawumi O. Makinde, paid a courtesy visit to her office.
Receiving the Library team, which presented gifts and warm felicitations, the Vice-Chancellor described the University Library as an “essential organ of the University,” stressing its strategic importance to the University’s academic development and the accreditation of its programmes.
According to her, academic excellence extends beyond activities carried out in the classroom, noting that the availability of adequate library resources and services is an important component of the standards required for the accreditation of academic programmes.
She commended the University Librarian and members of her team for their contributions to the University’s accreditation efforts, while encouraging them to do more to sustain and advance the achievements recorded so far.

The visit ended with the University Librarian and members of her team expressing their commitment to supporting the administration and contributing their quota to the University’s pursuit of sustained academic excellence.
