NSUK Vice-Chancellor Honoured at Nasarawa @ 30 Gala, Recognised as First Female Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, has received a leadership recognition from the Nasarawa State Government in acknowledgement of her leadership of the university and contributions to education and human capital development in the state.

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, has received a leadership recognition from the Nasarawa State Government in acknowledgement of her leadership of the university and contributions to education and human capital development in the state.

Professor Liman was honoured on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, during a Dinner and Awards Night organised by the Nasarawa State Government at the Aliyu Akwe Banquet Hall, Lafia, as part of activities marking the 30th anniversary of the creation of Nasarawa State.

The recognition highlights Professor Liman’s contributions to the advancement of education and human capital development in Nasarawa State, particularly her position as the first female Vice-Chancellor in the history of Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

Under her leadership, NSUK has continued to pursue institutional transformation through strategic initiatives focused on strengthening academic excellence, infrastructural development, innovation, staff and student welfare, as well as national and international partnerships.

The administration has also focused on positioning the university as a competitive centre for learning, research and innovation while strengthening its contribution to the socio-economic development of Nasarawa State and beyond.

The recognition was part of the state government’s efforts to celebrate distinguished individuals and institutions whose contributions have played a role in shaping the development of Nasarawa State over the past three decades.

The high-profile event was attended by former Governors of Nasarawa State, political leaders, traditional rulers, academics, business leaders and other distinguished personalities from within and outside the state.

For the NSUK community, the honour represents recognition of Professor Liman’s leadership as well as the collective efforts of the university’s Management, staff and students towards advancing the institution’s mission.

The university community congratulated the Vice-Chancellor on the recognition and appreciated the Nasarawa State Government for acknowledging her contributions to the development of education and human capital in the state.
