Redeemer’s University, Ede, Nigeria, has joined the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), strengthening its participation in the global higher education community.

The membership places the university within one of the world’s largest networks of higher education institutions, comprising 400 universities across 40 Commonwealth countries.

The development further expands Redeemer’s University’s presence within the international higher education landscape and provides new opportunities for engagement with universities and institutions across the Commonwealth.

Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, Professor Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, described the membership as a significant milestone in the institution’s pursuit of excellence, innovation and global impact.

“The admission of Redeemer’s University into the Association of Commonwealth Universities is a proud moment for our institution and a clear reflection of the progress we are making in our journey towards global excellence.

Through the ACU’s accredited status with the Commonwealth Secretariat, Redeemer’s University will have a platform to engage with and contribute to policy agendas at the highest levels.

The membership will also provide the university with access to a network of peer institutions for the sharing of best practices, knowledge exchange and development of strategic partnerships.

In addition, staff and students of Redeemer’s University will have opportunities to apply for funding and participate in projects and programmes led by the ACU.

The development represents another step in the university’s efforts to strengthen its international partnerships, expand opportunities for members of its academic community and advance its vision of setting standards through sustained commitment to excellence and creating transformative impact in society.
