LASU Vice-Chancellor Congratulates Prof. Francis Faduyile on Ondo South Senatorial Election Victory

The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, has congratulated Francis Faduyile following his victory in the Ondo South Senatorial District by-election held on June 20, 2026.

The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, has congratulated Francis Faduyile following his victory in the Ondo South Senatorial District by-election held on June 20, 2026.

Professor Faduyile, a Professor of Pathology and Forensic Medicine at the Lagos State University College of Medicine and Consultant Pathologist at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, emerged winner of the poll after securing 68,474 votes across the senatorial district.

His victory was announced by the Returning Officer, Gbenga Ibileye, at the collation centre in Okitipupa.

In a congratulatory message, Professor Olatunji-Bello described the victory as well deserved, noting that Professor Faduyile has built a distinguished record of service in academia, medicine, professional leadership, and public administration.

She highlighted his contributions to Nigeria's healthcare sector, medical education, and policy development, particularly during his tenure as President of the Nigerian Medical Association. She also referenced his previous role as Special Adviser to the Governor of Ondo State, where he contributed to governance and public service initiatives.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed confidence that the senator-elect would bring the same professionalism, integrity, and commitment that defined his academic and medical career to legislative service.

She further wished him a successful tenure representing the people of Ondo South Senatorial District and contributing to national development through effective representation and public service.

Professor Faduyile's election victory adds another notable public service achievement to the growing list of LASU academics occupying influential leadership positions in Nigeria.
