The management of Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) on Thursday, April 16, 2026, hosted a grand reception to celebrate the remarkable achievements of its student-athletes who secured medals across several international and local competitions over the past year.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, herself a former student-athlete, lauded the contingents for their dedication. She emphasized that sports serve as a vital tool for personal development, building the confidence and resilience necessary for life beyond the classroom.

"The university exists because of you," Prof. Lafiaji-Okuneye told the athletes. "By choosing discipline and positive engagement over negative influences, you have turned sports into a meaningful endeavor that teaches lasting values."
