In a strategic move to expand academic frontiers, the management of Kano State Polytechnic (KSP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi (JOSTUM). The partnership will facilitate the commencement of various Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) programmes in Management and Social Sciences.

The official signing ceremony took place on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the University’s liaison office in Abuja, marking a pivotal milestone for the Polytechnic’s School of Continuing Education and Postgraduate Studies.

Representing the Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Engr.) Isaac Nathaniel Itodo, the Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Raphael A. Ofukwu, commended the KSP leadership for their vision. He revealed that the collaboration was approved following a successful resource verification visit conducted in December 2025, which confirmed the Polytechnic’s readiness to host the advanced programmes.

"This fruitful beginning will empower students to advance their academic careers within the Polytechnic environment and beyond," Prof. Ofukwu stated.

The Rector of Kano State Polytechnic, Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk, FCA, expressed profound gratitude to the JOSTUM management for granting the affiliation. He noted that the partnership is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education and open new professional doors.

The ceremony was attended by key KSP officials, including Dr. Ramatu Adamu Mohammed (Director, School of Continuing Education and Postgraduate Studies), Dr. Awaisu Adamu Salihi (Director, Consultancy Services), and Muhammad Abubakar Hotoro (Coordinator, Programme Visitation).

This collaboration underscores Kano State Polytechnic’s commitment to academic excellence and its drive to provide accessible, high-quality postgraduate education to its growing student population.
