LAUTECH Team SAOT Clinches Top Spot At Prof Ogundipo Innovation Challenge

Team SAOT from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso has secured first place at the 3rd edition of the Prof Ogundipo Innovation Challenge.
The hackathon, hosted by the Faculty of Life Science at the University of Lagos on November 27 2025, concluded with LAUTECH outperforming teams from several institutions to take the top position.
The winning team consisted of Amoo Taiwo of Mechanical Engineering, Bello Abdullahi of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Emmanuel Lafenwa of Mechanical Engineering, and Azeez Fatiha of Computer Science. They were mentored by Prof Tesleem Babatunde Asafa, Director of the Centre for Emerging Skills and Technology at LAUTECH. Notably, three LAUTECH teams were among the seven finalists that advanced to the concluding stage of the competition.
The achievement underscores the institution’s strengthening culture of technical proficiency, innovation capacity, and competitive excellence, all reinforced by the training framework available to students at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology.
