McPherson University Celebrates Vice-Chancellor Prof. Francis Igbasan at 61

In a spirit of celebration and unity, the McPherson University community, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, gathered to honour the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francis Igbasan, on his 61st birthday. The event drew staff and students of the University, as well as staff and pupils of the McPherson University Staff School, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere across the campus.

The celebration served as an opportunity to appreciate the Vice-Chancellor’s leadership and his significant contributions to the growth and transformation of the institution. Members of the university community described the event as a well-deserved recognition of his impact.

In his goodwill message, the Acting Registrar, Mr. Olufemi Adebowale, described Prof. Igbasan as a leader committed to developing people and empowering those around him. He noted that the Vice-Chancellor has consistently demonstrated a passion for institutional and human development.

The University Librarian, Dr. Jerome Idiengbyen-Ose, expressed profound appreciation for the Vice-Chancellor’s influence on the university. He stated that his experience at McPherson University has been fulfilling and added that he does not regret joining the institution under Prof. Igbasan’s leadership.

Dr. Idiengbyen-Ose further described the Vice-Chancellor as a man God is using to accomplish great things for McPherson University. He commended him for allowing God to guide his leadership, resulting in remarkable transformation across various aspects of the institution.

The University Chaplain, Rev. Ibiwunmi Alo, led a session of prayers for the celebrant, asking for divine strength, wisdom and continuous blessings upon his life and responsibilities.

Responding, Prof. Igbasan expressed deep gratitude to God for His sustaining grace, acknowledging that his life journey is a testimony of divine help. He noted that those who know him understand the challenges he has overcome through God’s intervention.

The Vice-Chancellor also appreciated the McPherson University community for the love, support and unity of purpose they have shown. He emphasized that the achievements recorded under his administration reflect a collective effort built on shared vision and commitment.
